Starting tomorrow and for one week, films from Indonesia will be transforming the city of Melbourne in one of their islands. Film-makers and fans will meet in one of the most multicultural cities in Australia.
The opening night, this 19th of August, will be screening an International Premier: Batas (Borders) a very awaited film from the director Rudi Soedjarwo.

Tonight, we had the opportunity to meet the starring actress Ardina Rasti, she interpreted Jaleswari, a woman living between borders, not only geographical but cultural and humanitarian. Ardina told us about how the Indonesian/Malaysian border is a zone with a very special way of life, and how conflicts like human traffic are now unveiled in the film. Batas is a film with a deep social content, it explores educational issues, rural culture and moral drama.
