Talcahuano is recuperating one step at a time!!!

On February 27, Chile suffered a magnitude 8.8 earthquake. Tumbes Park´s instalations were severly damaged as well as looted and vandalized, destroying many years of work by the Comité Nacional Pro Defensa de la Fauna y Flora, CODEFF, and the Talcahuano local Government.

Parque Tumbes is a natural area of 120 hectares, located in one of the most vulnerable sections of the Talcahuano community, in the region of Biobio. It is time to revive it once again.

The park’s yearly production is 10 thousands plants of 18 different species of native trees, destined for reforestation. The park also has many trails used to develop activities for environmental education.
