You can also read the second or first parts

Tom you are awesome! :D

  • New Brighton Pier; fish on the Pier or simply marvel at the majestic Pacific Ocean :)
  • More fishing!!! Catch crayfish and lobsters or the rocky bays around our Banks Peninsula YUM!
  • The Quarry Park Halswell; a lovely park which provided the foundations for many of our historic buildings!
  • Horse Shoe Lake Reserve; a peaceful place to feed the ducks and canoe (or come and talk to Kiwis like me, I don’t live to far from here :)
  • Ngaio Marsh theater; University productions which are inexpensive and great entertainment. Debates comedies you name it they do it!
  • Polytechnic restaurant; cheap affordable meals which will sattisfy even the hungriest traveler
  • Racecourse (Westpac/Riccarton); an exciting place to be (especially on Show Day) Ladies remember your hats :)
  • Washington Skate Park/Reserve; for all you guys that wanna do some half pipes and other fancy skate tricks that I can’t even imagine!
  • Ruapuna Speedway; Our version of USA Derby’s. Fun Fast and frenetic!! Vroooom!
  • Court Theater; a lot of local productions but my favourites are the late shows on Friday and Saturday nights that mock serious issues. Not good for the kiddies though :D
  • Ballantynes Mall; A woman’s paradise (and good for the kiddies) an icon in Canterbury like Harrod’s is to London! Amazing stuff! Get a pair of Barker pants and you will be a real Canterbury Man!
  • Canterbury of New Zeraland; A rugby jersey from here and you will be a Kiwi Man :D
  • Oxford Cafe/Jo Seagar Cooking Academy; love chocolate ladies? Every kind of baked delicacy you could possibly crave!!
  • Darfield Butchery; Amazing fresh meats and small goods. For the growing boy (and girl :)
  • The Groynes; a perfect reserve to burn of those calories, canoeing, walking strolling hectares of hours of heavenly fun!
  • Waimakariri Bridge Adventure Sports; Bungee Jump or tak the jet boat either way your heart will be pounding!!
  • For those who want something a bit more passive (and romantic oh la la :) take an old English punt on the Avon, oh so sooooothing :) or sit on the shores and try and catch some whitebait and later make some patties (a very popular passtime in our land)

These are just some of the things I can heartily recommend to you during your stay in Christchurch. Hope you get the chance to try some of them out. Peace out! :)
