Valdivia International Film Festival lineup
The 17th version of the Valdivia International Film Festival, which will take place in Chile this October is going to show 120 films, 30 movie premiers for Latin America and 10 worldwide film premieres. The award for this film festival competition is the Golden Pudu.
The International Feature Film Competition is a category for films directed by independent and emergent directors which showcases a wide variety of themes and stylistics.
The movies in this category are: Post Mortem, by Pablo Larraín (Chile); Verano de Goliat, by Nicolás Pereda (México-Canadá); Quil´s reposent en révolte (des figures de guerres), by Sylvain George (Francia); Le quattro volte, by Michelangelo Frammartino (Italia), 35mm; Marimbas del infierno, by Julio Hernández Cordón (Guatemala); La vida útil, by Federico Veiroj (Uruguay); Tilva Rosh, by Nikola Leraic (Serbia); Cold Weather, by Aaron Katz (EEUU); Ocaso, by Theo Court (Chile); Todos vós sodes capitáns, by Oliver Laxe (España); Foreign parts, by Verena Paravel y J.D Sniadecki (EEUU-Francia) and Jean Gentil, by Laura Amelia Guzmán and Israel Cárdenas (República Dominicana).
The Chilean Feature Film Competition is a new category, created this year in honor of the country’s bicentennial anniversary.
The films in this category are: Metro Cuadrado, by Nayra Ilic; Mocha, by Guillermo Ribbeck; El eco de las canciones, by Antonia Rossi; and Mi vida con Carlos, by Germán Berger.
